Inception Phase – Whether it’s a new idea or corporate downsizing, many are launching out or branching out. During this phase, there’s a lot of excitement. It’s important to get off on the right foot, and be able to pivot if the footing falters. Being able to remain focused is often a hurdle.
Growth Phase – The honeymoon of a new business is over. It’s time to scale up – or occasionally – give up. Plenty of businesses balk at growing too fast or too wide. Growth is change and it takes us beyond previous boundaries. Growth might include extending reach geographically to find new customers, or creating additional value for current customers.
Renewal Phase – There are times a business gets stuck in old habits, possibly stubborn towards change. This phase is often hard to identify – except for the dwindling profits. Sometimes, a fresh start is simply a matter of re-discovering what it takes in the current marketplace to once again thrive.
